The band has recently returned from a weekend away to Heanor in Derbyshire. This was the first time that the band had undertaken an overnight stay and weekend away and great fun was had by all. On Saturday 25th May the band left Colchester and travelled by coach to Ashfields Care Home in Heanor where they entertained the residents for a couple of hours. They then went and checked into their accommodation before enjoying a meal at the local pub to celebrate a band member's birthday. Sunday morning saw the band performing at Shipley Country Park and even though they had to play inside due to the rainy weather, the visitors to the park enjoyed their music. Lunch was then at the Marquis of Ormonde pub in Codnor before heading back to Colchester. Everyone enjoyed the weekend and there have already been questions about where the band might go next year!
Now home, the band is looking forward to their summer season where they will be performing at a school fete, a church fete, a local care home and then holding their own Summer concert on 13th July. Busy times ahead!
