The band finished their Christmas season yesterday carol playing at Highwoods Tesco in Colchester in the morning and then entertaining the residents and their families of Silversprings Care home in Thorrington in the afternoon. The band raised £259.58 carol playing and will donate £130 to The Alzheimer's Society which is one of the charities that the band will support this academic year (the various charities are nominated by band members).
The band has also held their own Christmas concert at the Co-op Chapel on Wimpole Road in Colchester which raised over £240 for band funds, played for the Mile End WI Carol Service at St Michael's Church on Mile End Road in Colchester, were the invited guests of The Ramsey Academy School in Halstead to take part in their Christmas concert and played as part of the 'Colchester Presents' all day event in Colchester town centre which culminated in the switching on of the christmas lights and the arrival of Father Christmas on the High Street.
